Pippa Bench

Pippa Bench

Teak Sideboard

45w x 15d x 35h. A minimal interpretation of vintage Danish sideboards was designed as my final project while a student studying woodworking. Sliding doors reveal storage units with adjustable shelves within. The hand cut dovetailed drawers utilize NK (pronounced en-koe) runners which was a Swedish system for dealing with drawers that are wider than they are deep to ensure a smooth run. Unlike modern metal solution, this is all wood, fit by hand and demands high precision. The low profile pulls are designed to allow the sliding doors to slide over the drawers without obstructing them. Shown in Teak with a Beech interior. Hand rubbed oil finish exterior and shellac in the interior. Bocote pulls.

Walnut Sideboard

This custom design serves as both a sideboard and a hall table. Rift sawn Black Walnut grain keeps the presentation calm and understated while complimenting the minimal lines of the piece. Hinged doors open to reveal storage which in this case was for bottles of wine. The recessed pulls in walnut provide subtle accents to the clean face of the piece. Hand rubbed oil finish.

Rocker_01

Jensen Rocking Chair

23.5w x 31.5d x 39h. This reproduction of Helge Vestergaard Jensen's 1950's  rocking chair explores an incredible form that proves to be extremely comfortable. Its composition is extremely unique in the way the seat hangs from the frame relying  on very strong joinery to ensure its longevity.  An impressive design that still looks strikingly modern today. Shown in Black Walnut with a hand rubbed oil finish, the fluted and tufted seat in leather.
